It’s Here
Maybe it’s the 70-degree weather we are having. Maybe it’s the hard past couple of years. Perhaps it’s the polarization of our society with people attacking one another at every turn. Whatever the cause, I am struggling to get into the Christmas spirit this year. But here we are with the week of Christmas upon us.
The good news is that Christmas’s arrival doesn’t depend on my mood or attitude. It’s here and there is only one question that I must answer: will I get over myself and remember the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place? I am a follower of, in my opinion, the greatest leader of all time. His name is Jesus. And one thing is for sure, He did not allow his circumstances to dictate his behavior.
This leader set the example of servant leadership. I hope you are celebrating this season regardless of your faith. For me, I will allow my faith to remind me that Christmas is not about me or my feelings. It is a time to do what Jesus did and focus on others.
Let’s choose to focus on those around us this Christmas, no matter how we feel. I’m going to celebrate the birth of my Savior by giving to others, and loving those around me. I invite you to do the same. This Christmas season, we can make a difference.
